The Summer School “First Democratic Republic of Georgia (1918-1921)” that started on July, 17 at the National Archives of Georgia, was closed today.
The school listeners were awarded with the certificates by the general director of the National Archives, Ms. Teona Iashvili and the head of the Central Historical Archive, Mr. Anton Vatcharadze.
With the support of Shota Rustaveli National Science foundation the Summer School was held at the National Archives. The school had 20 participants, among them 15 foreign and 5 local citizens.
In the frame of the school 43 lectures were held. Participants acquainted with the following modules: Democratic Institutes; Republic and Foreign Countries; Military Affairs; Economic, Culture, Religion, Human Rights, Mass-Media; Practice. Sharing of opinions in frames of roundtable debates will be organized. The participants will be taken to cultural sightseeing tours, museums; they will get acquainted with primary archival sources, photos and cinematography of the respective period.
In the frame of the project the exhibition with the materials from the period of the First Republic was held. Special interest was caused by the lectures in Kojor-Tabakhmela. From this territory exactly the Red Army entered Tbilisi in February, 1921.
The participants of the Summer School will depicted the gained information in scientific publications, published in the future.
