The Exhibition on the First Republic of Georgia in the Public Service Hall of Gori

The National Archives of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia is continuing exhibitions on the First Republic of Georgia in the regions. Today an exhibition on the history of the years 1918-1921 was opened in the Public Service Hall of Gori.

Along with the opening of the explosion, an employee of the National Archives Dimitri Silakadze held a public lecture on the history of the years 1918-1921.

Manuscripts and photo materials, showing the three year history of independence of Georgia, are presented on the exhibition. The variety of the preserved material in the Archives reflects important events of the above mentioned period of Georgian history such as: The restoration of state sovereignty and the establishment of the government of independent Georgia; The high legislative body – holding the elections of Constituent Assembly, in which representatives of both genders participated and five of more than 20 women among the registered candidates became members of the Constituent Assembly; Accepting the first constitution and etc.

In 2018 exactly 100 years passed since the establishment of the First Republic of Georgia. The anniversary date will be celebrated by the National Archives with numerous events such as the exhibition “The First Democratic Republic of Georgia”, which will be held in all regions of Georgia throughout the year.

The exhibition in the Public Service Hall of Gori will go on for two weeks.
