The System Of Document Protection In The Repositories Of The National Archives Has Been Improved

A modern fire alarm system has been installed in the repositories of the National Archives of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia. The special equipment was purchased by the National Archives through a company selected on the basis of a tender.

According to the Director General of the National Archives Teona Iashvili, the fire-fighting system installed in the 60s in the archives of the Central Archives of Historical, Recent History and Film-Documentary Documents was operating in the 60s.

Detectors of obsolete equipment had radiation radiation, which negatively affected both the health of employees and the condition of archival documents. The new equipment has no radiation.

The new fire alarm system has a centralized remote control that provides a signal from all repositories. This remote control is controlled 24 hours a day, which makes the security system even more efficient.

The National Archives preserves documents and materials very important for the country, from the 9th century to the present day.
