The presentation of the next stage of the project “Message to the Future” took place at the National Archives of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia.
As part of the “Kviris Palitra” project, following the openings in 2005 and 2010, the chest was once again unsealed, allowing recipients to receive letters sent to them 25 years ago.
Messages written by the citizens have been preserved in the National Archives’ repository since the year 2000. Within the framework of the project, any individual had the opportunity to write a letter to a family member, friend, neighbor, or even the country itself. The recipient—according to the author’s wishes—would receive the letter 5, 10, 25, 50, or 100 years later. These letters were placed in a specially designated chest, sealed and stored in the National Archives.
Following the event, the chest was sealed once again and will be reopened in 2050.
