The National Archives of Georgia will have a new infrastructure soon in Samktskhe-Javakheti. Ongoing reconstruction and depository construction was inspected today by the Vice Prime-Minister, Minister of Justice, Thea Tsulukiani. She was accompanied by the General Director of the National Archives Teona Iashvili and the Head of the Public Service Hall Soso Giorgadze.
According to the architectural project, together with rehabilitation of the existing building, 3-storyed depository is being built next to it. After the construction will be completed, total area of the building will be 1200 square meters; territory of depository will be increased and the archival fonds from Akhalkalaki, Ninotsminda and Borjomi will be added to the documents preserved here and the quantity of the files will exceed 250 thousand.
The building will be fully equipped with modern cooling, heating and ventilation systems, stock and furniture. Reading room will be arranged, the yard and nearby territory will be upgraded.
