The exhibition "Greeks in Georgia" will be held at the National Archives of Georgia

The exhibition "Greeks in Georgia" dedicated to the Independence Day of Greece will be opened on March 24 in the exhibition pavilion of the National Archives of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia.

On March 25, the Hellenic Republic celebrates Independence Day, which is joined by the National Archives of Georgia with its own exposition.

The aim of the exhibition is to show the close and friendly relations that connect the Georgian and Greek peoples.

The exposition will present archival documents reflecting the life of Greeks in Georgia and the relations between the two countries - as well as old historical documents, as well as documents and photographs from the period of the First Republic of Georgia. Namely: Greek historical documents of the XIX century, Greek hymns, maps, building projects, documents about temples, Greek masters and Greek schools and more.

Along with the material reflecting the Georgian-Greek relations, several samples of the Georgian treasures that brought the migration of Greeks to Georgia and have been kept in the National Archives of Georgia since the 1920s will be presented. These precious manuscripts are the Gospel of Anchi and the Gospel of the Trout Fortress.

The exhibition will last until the end of April 2021.
