The Second Scientific and Information Conference, "Archives of Georgia," was held at the National Archives of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia.
The conference aimed to promote internal professional development, review and analyze ongoing activities, facilitate the exchange of experience and innovations in both archival practice and scholarly research, strengthen cooperation among archives, and foster institutional culture.
Staff members of the National Archives from Tbilisi and the regions presented papers on the history of Georgia, cultural heritage, archival studies, and the distinguished fonds and collections preserved in regional archives.
The event was held within the framework of International Archives Week and was opened by Deputy Minister of Justice Merab Turava and the Director General of the National Archives of Georgia, Teona Iashvili.
Alongside the conference, the exhibition "Archives of Georgia" was opened at the National Archives’ Exhibition Pavilion, introducing the wider public to the documentary heritage and historical photographs preserved in Georgia’s central and regional archives.
The exhibition has been included in the international events calendar of International Archives Week, initiated by the International Council on Archives (ICA), further highlighting the significance of Georgia’s archives within the global archival community.
As a member institution of the ICA, the National Archives of Georgia marks International Archives Week each year through a variety of events and activities.
