The National Archives of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia has carried out digital restoration of up to 10 archival documentaries over the past year.

Among the films are: "Saqartvelos Mechurchletukhutsesi", 1985; "Zhami Shekrebad Qvata", 1990; "Tbilisi", 1939; Pirosmani, 1960; "Mgeris Rustavi", 1982; "Chveni Nona", 1962 and others.

The films were scanned from the original tapes with 4k resolution equipment, allowing for a high level of digital restoration. Digital copies of movies are color, image and sound corrections. The restoration is carried out by Giorgi Kakabadze and Shalva Mikutishvili on the basis of the Central Archive of Film and Photo Records.

The National Archives of Georgia continues to scan and restore high quality archival documentaries and plans to present them to viewers in various formats.
