About 30 employees of the National Archives of Georgia have undergone The International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property’s (ICCROM) Training Course “First Aid during the Cultural Heritage Crisis”. The event was organized by the Georgian National Committee of the "Blue Shield" and the National Archives of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia.
The event was concurred with “MayDay”, established by the Society of American Archivists and is dedicated to the opportunity that the professionals working in cultural heritage, in state of emergency, contribute to the protection of the exhibits. Training course was delivered by Manana Tevzadze, chairperson of the Georgian National Committee of the “Blue Shield” and Mariam Kalkhitashvili, program manager of the same committee.
The National Archives of Georgia is one of the founders of the Georgian National Committee of the “Blue Shield” (in 2013). The organization serves to develop cultural heritage protection mechanism at a national level in crisis situations.
