In the frames of the 13th Tbilisi International Film Festival 4 short films from the period of silent film was shown by the National Archives of Georgia in the fifth hall of Rustaveli cinema. The screenings have been accompanied by the live music of Rezo Kiknadze and ensemble “Consilia”.
The films taken in the 20-30-s of the last century caused the great interest among the viewers and the screening was practically sold out.
The films chosen from the genre of “Culturfilm” unites the conception “Body/Machine”. Two of them Kote Mikaberidze’s and Vasil Dolenko’s films - “You must reap what you have sawn”(1930) and Siko Dolidze’s “Call of the land”(1928) are very actual topics for socialists republic, about mechanization of the labor process in collective farming and new distribution of labor. What concerns the rest two films of Vakhtang Shvelidze’s “The hygiene of collective farmer” (1934) and Aleqsandre Jaliashvili’s “Morning ten minutes” (1932) they describe the state policy of body’s recovery.
