A documentary film screening was held at the cinema hall of the National Archives of Georgia for students of the “Young Historians’ School.” The event was dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the birth of Ivane Javakhishvili.
The students watched the documentary film Ivane Javakhishvili (1975), preserved in the National Archives’ film collection, which presents the life and scholarly contribution of the distinguished historian.
Following the screening, the students visited the exhibition Saint Nino - Enlightener of Georgia, currently on display at the National Archives’ Exhibition Pavilion. The exhibition is dedicated to the 1,700th anniversary of the Christianization of Georgia and features manuscripts, historical documents, and reproductions of frescoes related to Saint Nino preserved at the National Archives.
More than 150 students of the “Young Historians’ School” attended the event. The organizer of the event, held with the support of the National Archives, was the Georgian Association of History Teachers.
The National Archives actively cooperates with educational organizations to promote the country’s historical and cultural heritage among younger generations.
