Georgian Theater Day - January 14 - is connected with the first performance of Giorgi Eristavi Theater. On January 2 (14), 1850, Giorgi Eristavi revived his play "Gakra" (Divorce) on the stage. Georgian professional theater was born with this play.
The exhibition presents miniatures of the first staging of the Georgian Professional Theater - "Gakra", which accompanies the manuscript of the work. Georg Koradin's miniatures, created in 1850, depict the scenes from a play. The exhibition also presents other materials reflecting the history of the Georgian theater preserved in the National Archives of Georgia - photos, posters, programs and other documents.
