Director General of the National Archives met her Colleague from Malta

Director General of the National Archives of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia Teona Iashvili met with the Director of the European Division of the International Council on Archives (EURBICA), Director of the National Archives of Malta Charles J.  Farrugia today.

On this same day Charles J. Farrugia got acquainted with the work of the National Archives Documents' Restoration Laboratory and the Central Archive of Audio-Visual Documents. His special interest was in the digitization and storage of audio and film documents and its electronic versions.

The parties agreed that in 2020 the restorers of the National Archives of Georgia will visit the National Archives of Malta and learn about the methods used by the Maltese specialists in the restoration of paper documents. And in turn, they will share their experience in the restoration of parchment documents with Maltese colleagues. 

In addition, Charles J. Furrugia got acquainted with the new infrastructure of the National Archives of Georgia. At its initiative, the National Archives of Georgia, along with other international experts, will be involved in infrastructure projects of the Malta Archives.

Charles J. Farrugia visited Tbilisi within the framework of the Fourth International Conference of the National Archives of Georgia.
