Students from Public School No. 126 in Tbilisi became acquainted with the activities of the National Archives of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia, as well as with the documents preserved in the National Archival Fund.
At the Archives’ exhibition pavilion, the visitors toured the commemorative exhibition dedicated to King Vakhtang VI. They also had the opportunity to view the first issues of Georgian periodicals such as Droeba, Iveria, and Tsnobis Purtseli.
The students showed particular interest in the restoration of archival documents. They received detailed information from the Archives’ restorers about the methods and principles of document restoration.
The visit concluded with a screening of the documentary “Remnant of the Precious Deedi”. Filmed in 2024 by staff of the National Archives (directors: Ketevan Asatiani and Shalva Mikutishvili), the film explores the historical significance of King David IV’s testament to the Shio-Mgvime Monastery.
The National Archives actively collaborates with educational institutions to provide students with insights into the historical value of the documents preserved in the National Archival Fund.
