The exhibition dedicated to the history of the Liberal Arts faculty of the Tbilisi State University was held in the University lobby today. The event “From the Faculty of Wisdom to the Faculty of Liberal Arts” was joint arrangement of the National Archives of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia and the Museum of the Tbilisi State University.
The exhibition was part of the week of the Liberal Arts faculty within the 90 years jubilee of the University.
According to Teona Iashvili, the NA director, the documents dated back to 1917-1949 are on the display. The records include development of the faculty of Liberal Arts, and documents of famous scholars and professors such as: Petre Melikishvili, Ivane Javakhishvili, Ioseb Kipshidze, Korneli Kekelidze, Iustine Abuladze, Simon Kaukchishvili, Grigol Tsereteli, Givi Zhordania, Shalva Amiranashvili, Akaki Urushadze, Giorgi Nioradze, Akaki Shanidze, Ekvtime Takaishvili, Dimitri Uznadze, Giorgi Chubinashvili, Nikoloz Berdzenishvili and others.
The exhibition will continue in the National Archives for two weeks from June 16, 2008.
