The exhibition "Sargis Kakabadze" will be opened in the exhibition pavilion of the National Archive of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia on June 7, at 16:00.

Historian and philologist Sargis Kakabadze was one of the founders and later the head of the Eronian Archive of Georgia (the central archive at that time). Thanks to him, the funds of the National Archive were filled with the most important documents.

Sargis Kakabadze's unique personal archive is kept by his grandson Tsira Kalandadze. It is with his help that the documents of the historian's archive will be presented to the general public for the first time in the exhibition pavilion of the National Archives.

In addition to photo reproductions, the originals preserved in the family archive of Sargis Kakabadze will be exhibited: family photos and documents of the Kakabadzes, unpublished and completely unknown scientific works, archaeological items belonging to Sargis Kakabadze; Interesting archival material related to Sargi, Davit and Artem Kakabadze.

Sargis Kakabadze left the richest legacy: monographic works, scientific articles, epistolary legacy, photographs, priceless documentation related to the movement of Georgian treasure, which has not been published until now, therefore, it is not included in scientific circulation. The planned exhibition in the National Archives is the first step to introduce this material to the general public.

It should be noted that the International Day of Archives is celebrated on June 9. It is on this date that the exhibition dedicated to one of the founders of the National Archives of Georgia and the Great Moamagi is dedicated.

The exposition will last for one month, viewing is free.
