An online exhibition dedicated to Kote Marjanishvili's jubilee

The National Archive of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia is dedicating an online exhibition to the 150th anniversary of Kote Marjanishvili's birth.

The director was born on June 9, 1872 in Kvareli. He became interested in theater while still a student at the First Gymnasium in Tbilisi. His acting debut took place in Kutaisi, at the Kote Meskhi Theater, and then in the play "Little Kakhi". However, the amateur theater had established him in his native Kvareli much earlier. He has been working in the theater since 1904, in the 1920s he added six feature films of different genres to the Georgian cinematography.

The online exhibition includes a variety of materials preserved in the National Archives - photographs from feature films and theatrical performances, newspaper posters, a 1930 image video of Kote Marjanishvili and his troupe, recollections of various famous people about the director, and other archival material.
