The National Archives created a high-quality electronic copy of the film footage of Kote Marjanishvili's funeral

The newly discovered film footage of the director Kote Marjanishvili's funeral was digitized with a 4K resolution scanner in the National Archive of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia.

A film tape of the funeral of the founder of the modern Georgian theater was found in the storage of the "Mematiane" studio a few weeks ago among the previously undeciphered material.

Kote Marjanishvili died on April 17, 1933 in Moscow, Russia. His ashes were brought to Georgia and buried on April 29, 1933 in the yard of the Opera House.

Many people attended the funeral and funeral of Kote Marjanishvili from his own theater, among them were well-known representatives of society: Alexandre Tsutsunava, Nikoloz Shengelaia, Vaso Godziashvili, Sandro Zhorzholiani, Dodo Antadze, Sesilia Tsutsunava, Lado Gudiashvili, Petre Otskheli, Leo Esakia, Elizabeth Cherkezishvili, Niko Lortkifanidze. and others.

"Mematiane" studio handed over the electronic version of the newly discovered footage to the National Archive, and it will be available to any interested person through the Hall of Researchers. In addition, digital restoration of film footage is planned in the near future in the National Archive.
