The National Archives of Georgia Commemorates Erosi Manjgaladze’s 100th Anniversary with a Multimedia Online Exhibition

To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of renowned film and theater actor, as well as sports commentator, Erosi Manjgaladze, the National Archives of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia has dedicated a multimedia online exhibition.

The exhibition, available on the official website of the National Archives of Georgia, presents archival materials illustrating Erosi Manjgaladze’s life and artistic career in a multimedia format. The collection includes memories of the actor, scenes from theatrical performances, photographs from film sets, excerpts from newsreels, as well as fragments from films and stage productions.

Erosi Manjgaladze was born on October 21, 1925 (according to his birth record, March 3) in the village of Ghaniri, Samtredia District. From 1948 until the end of his life, he was an actor at the Shota Rustaveli Drama Theatre, where he performed in more than 20 plays. His film career began in 1959, and he portrayed 25 characters in Georgian feature films. His roles in television productions and films remain unforgettable. Additionally, Erosi Manjgaladze made a significant contribution to the development of sports commentary, which became another notable aspect of his career.
